#Aarhus want to attend a talk on decentralised networks and protocols?

24 March, @zelf will give a presentation on the topic for our community along with CoderGirls Aarhus, a community of women working in software development, IT and other technical fields around Aarhus and Jutland in Denmark.

Anyone who is an ally to women in tech initiatives is welcome to join, regardless of gender.

Enjoying the thorough recommendations and gathering of people in various stages of becoming independent of big tech 💚 Thanks to @BjoernOlsen and @metteh and all the great people involved in the campaign #danmarkskifter

We're learning to self-host! 💪

Yesterday, we started setting up a server, working to build this as a way of learning together, so we grow local capacity for self-hosting and can eventually support our activist communities becoming independent of big tech.

Our group has a few members with a little experience selfhosting, but that has already gotten us started. We welcome others around #aarhus to join this project by sending us a message or showing up to our meetings ( https://dukop.dk/en/group/1904/ )

In our meetings, we always learn about interesting digital tools and share helpful resources with each other - here we are sharing some mentioned last tuesday:

https://smartphone-dont-spy.de/en
Collection of tips on how to make your digital life saver when using a smartphone.

https://steghide.sourceforge.net/
How to hide text information inside a image. It needs an image and a text file as an input. Then you can sent an image and the receiver can decrypt it.

Smartphone, don't spy! - The interactive checklist for smartphone security & data protection

This checklist is designed to help you check your smartphone security in a fun way with specific tips. Points and levels in different categories should encourage you to tick off as many things as possible.

In yesterday's meeting, our focus was on switching smartphone OS (away from big tech).

We were hoping to hear from more people with alternative phone OS showed up to share, so we'll have to repeat another time.

For now, one of the known limitations is that MitID and bank apps often don't work (but MobilePay can with a workaround).

With a MitID chip, this seems fine - though they look boring, so we now want to make a "bling" your mitid chip workshop, wanna join? ✨🎨
