Again I find myself in the position of having to ask the allistics to please not.

That... makes a lot of sense, actually.

I've never felt he/him was wrong for me, as such, but only because I discarded an enormous amount of garbage attached to it.

But others haven't. And 3rd person pronouns are explicitly about how others refer to me and what they hear.

Huh

This is not actually a danger of self-diagnosis. This is justifying ableism so long as it happens to someone without a "proper diagnosis". Funny how hardly any dangers of self-diagnosis ever materialize, but the dangers of doctors isn't even acknowledged. https://twitter.com/drmicklive/status/1621614024764047360

“"Self-diagnosis", particularly on social media, leads to inaccurate representation, which harms people who are legitimately diagnosed by a professional and need accommodations. Why? Because they may not be taken seriously by folks who sign off on said accommodations.”

Oh we're doing self-diagnosis discourse again

So.

"Self-diagnosis" is a misnomer. Like yes you can self-diagnose as neurodivergent, however when people say they're self-diagnosed what they usually are (too) is *peer*-diagnosed

As in, an autistic friend suggested I was autistic

RT @vexwerewolf
I have absolutely no time for "anti-self-diagnosers."

"Self-diagnosis" is often NECESSARY to get an actual diagnosis. Doctors aren't exactly gonna catch ADHD or autism or gender dysphoria during a regular checkup. https://twitter.com/TRAExecutive/status/1625772724399349760

This just demonstrates that the official diagnostic process, revolves around VISIBLE DISTRESSED autistic behavior.

Clinicians clearly can‘t even use the very few tools they do have for recognizing autism beyond distress because they are so fixated on autism = distress. https://twitter.com/erikaheidewald/status/1625220583146377216
