I've realized that a big reason why I keep adding the phrase "reptilian beauty" in my stories is because a couple years ago I saw a "how to draw dragons" article/tutorial. In the article, the writer mentioned capturing the "reptilian evil" in the drawing, and that really frustrated me and made me sad. So I've been fighting against that particular phrase in my stories.

Reptiles are not evil! Reptiles are wonderful and beautiful!

Can we have cheat codes in videogames back?
I sure wish my Internet would quit dropping due to the storm. At least it kindly waited until after I finished stream.
@KayOhtie ... pedantry-kink, or "getting off on technicalities" ...

I am very much enjoying the plethora of zoomies today in regards to F1, Le Mans, and LRR Mans.
Fucking nailed it
Aaaaaa

Based on a recent post I saw, two important things about Paypal:
1 - Use invoices, not send/receive requests. It's more protection for you.
2 - Never, NEVER add any notes or descriptions. Say its 'art commission' etc, not 'vore piece ;3'. If flagged, one or both accounts can get permabanned.

I cant stress the second point enough. Many artists have Paypal as their only viable means to receive payments internationally, and a single 'Cool NSFW art' note can literally ruin their main source of income.

By the way, since it came up earlier today, Mastodon, like other Fediverse servers, provides a content warning function.

Attaching a content warning to your post means that others won't see the post until they click through the content warning.

Use content warnings to ensure that others on the Fediverse won't be exposed to potentially troubling content without their consent. Your content warning should serve to respect their agency.

On the advanced web interface of Mastodon/Glitch, as meow.social uses, click the triangle with the exclamation mark under the text input field to add a content warning.

Please do not just add "content warning" to the body of the text in your post. This does practically nothing to help others.

But please use content warnings liberally. Better to have one than not.

@DekiSystem oh hey, you have a steam link too

those are rare to see
-F

@Hearth We recently bought it from goodwill and haven't had time to set it up until now. We're curious to see how it goes!

@DekiSystem a bit of advice from someones who've had one for years: they *work* on wifi, but they work *way better* wired. If you can get an ethernet cable to it--even just from the steam link directly to the machine it's streaming from, you don't even need a router--you will have a better time with it

might have some other tips for getting good performance too but once it's on good internet it kinda Just Works, you don't have to mess with it much

@Hearth Unfortunately, wired will be very unlikely given the computer is on the top floor and the steam link will be either in the basement or on the main floor. Further complicating matters is the fact that this house is not currently set up for wired internet. I might be able to set up the old desktop tower and connect the steamlink to that, if I can find my old graphics card. Though at that point I could just connect that tower to the TV instead. I will keep this in mind though!
@DekiSystem It works on wifi too, just not as good! You will definitely see some video artifacts if the wifi is poor--but if you can tolerate video artifacts it rarely actually loses connection or anything
