There are a lot of people who are getting #Covid-19 right now. Please be careful. You never know how it will affect you and you may spread it to someone who is vulnerable (elderly, compromised immune system…) without knowing it.

My membership of British Cycling has come around for renewal and I have no hesitation in telling them to get lost. The fact that they took on a major sponsorship deal with Shell (SHELL!) in October and have refused to reverse that decision is appalling. This is classic greenwashing - Shell are continuing to extract all the oil they can. Cycling should not offer shelter to the fossil fuel companies putting profit ahead of the planet.

Here's a blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) on the ground looking for an acorn. Acorns are the blue jays' absolute favorite. During late winter and early spring when there were a lot of acorns on the ground, the blue jays all but ignored my feeders. But I would frequently see them dropping out of the oak trees to the ground to grab an acorn.
