I'm a GIS Specialist at LC Ecological Services in lovely Dorset. I'm originally from Yorkshire, but I've been in Wales for too long and gone native.

Just tested out #ChatGPT on a big CSV dataset. Worked surprisingly well. It wouldn't do it all in one go, must be a character limit, but it did in about an hour what would've taken me 10, and most of that was because I was splitting CSV files for it, the actual time it spent on the task was way less. Now to teach it to be location aware, and read some of the scrawled paper maps...
@mapperwocky @jcarlson agreed, not just the good standard it sets, but saves so many unanticipated issues in future

The thing I hate the most (well, maybe not the most, but it's bad) sloppy #CAD #GIS #Topology - use snapping at the very least!
@underdarkGIS it would be nice if the QGIS style repository was better integrated into QGIS off the bat.its the same place as the plugin repository, so surely it should be a simple matter of integration? Some great styles on this though! I may have to look into adding some UK ecology specific ones here too
Trying to book some external training in for work, got two providers desperate for us to book with them... Who knew booking a training would be so emotionally taxing!
