Generative AI is psychotic and perverted, just like the people whose data it was trained on.

The prompt for this was "woman with a huge hooked nose that goes over her mouth," but the output appears to be "woman with a huge hooked mouth that goes over her nose."

Apple released a new container runtime and it does not disappoint. Sub-second startup times and memory-bound operations are 30x Docker performance. It supports AMD64 through Rosetta2. I can't wait for Kubernetes on Apple silicon using native containers. This has enormous potential when you consider the efficiency of Apple's memory-compute interface on the M silicon. This could turn Mac Minis into AI beasts.

I came across an article about the philosophical dangers of AI, and it's pretty obvious that the entire article was AI-written and not proofread by a human.

The snake is eating its own tail.

So I see there is now a Spinal Tap II. Why not Spinal Tap 11?!

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

These words mean something to me. I'm a natural-born citizen with siblings who were born in a country on the newly proposed no-visit list, but I don't think you should have to be personally affected to see that the current occupant of the Oval Office and his lackeys aren't upholding their oaths to serve this country and its Constitution.

Women don't like to be touched without permission, some more than others.

OH: "I don't even like that there are molecules in the air touching me."

If you want to have self-driving taxis, how about sliding doors that can only open on the safest side, please.
I've observed a lot of Waymo car behavior, and I have to say if I were on the jury I'd be pretty likely to side with the plaintiff here, those cars are not safer than humans if you ask me:

San Francisco bicyclist sues over crash involving 2 Waymo cars

As the cyclist attempted to avoid one car’s open door, a second Waymo car reportedly crossed into the bike lane.

I propose the word "tweet" be used for sending out status updates on every service except X. As in "I tweeted on the Fediverse."

Status updates on X should be referred to as excreting. As in "Elon excreted some crazy shit today."

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating, because I’m starting to get the “our brains work like LLMs” in my mentions this week:

The idea that human consciousness could be simulated is, in 2025, still science fiction. You have never used or seen a product that has a clear roadmap between it and AGI, let alone consciousness.

We are not on the cusp of accurately simulating human consciousness in silicon; moreover, the idea that if we did, that silicon would have a first-person conscious experience is a leap of faith on the same level as believing in an immaterial, immortal soul.

You are so much more than an LLM. Anybody who says differently either hasn’t done their homework or has an agenda.
