I won a book. On the right is the 13th edition of the #Rothammel Antenna Book. This is THE antenna book here in Germany; every amateur radio operator I know has at least one copy of it. Almost 1,500 pages of concentrated knowledge.

On the left, for comparison, is my old copy (10th edition, published 1984 by the Military Publishing House of the GDR).

Thanks to DARC-Verlag and the HF-Department of the DARC!

Btw: there is a english edition too: https://rothammel.com/Rothammels-Antenna-Book

Just like in previous years, my club take part again in the nationwide “Türen auf mit der Maus” event at the DL0TUD Club Station, Technical University Dresden!

We warmly invite kids and teens aged 8 and up to explore hands-on radio activities, including some soldering, tracking down a hidden radio transmitter, and experiencing live radio operations.

More Infos (in german) here: https://dl0tud.tu-dresden.de/wordpress/index.php/2025/09/19/03-10-2025-maus-tur-offner-tag/

I guess the X510 now lives there. A Buddy of mine upgraded his outhouse today.

It's alive! Did some RX/TX testing with a HackRF and SDRangel, works so far.

The mike is a little to hot and i can not turn down the gain any more. TX sounds terrible for now. Have to check with another mike.

And does anybody know where testpoint "BB_RX" is on the board (rev 0.1e)?

#M17 #Module17

Some assembly required...

#M17 #Module17

Did some M17 tests last week with a DigiRig and my hotspot. But i want to run it without a PC for potential future use with a local repeater (which has no M17 support yet but maybe in the (near?) future).

@dh5ym first reminder ;-)

Amateur Radio is a dying hobby? Maybe. But the numbers here in Germany don't look that bad. More tests than the year before.

Did some more digging about the prevoius owner of DL9DX in the archives of the clubmagazine CQ-DL. Besides a few mentions about diplomas and contest participation over the years i found also a picture of H.J. Stammen from his 50 year membership celebration 2010 (second from the right).
Found also his SK note from 2018.
#HC04S @hamchallenge

Since i do not have a sufficient HF setup at the moment i had to cheat for the ham radio challenge #HC02S and use a Kiwi-WebSDR (http://kiwi.minish.org:8073/ from @ei6iz). Did you know there is a handy extention build in that lets you monitor the IBP beacons?

@hamchallenge

So it is time again for a #SSTV event from the ISS. First image captured.

If you run a Repeater or a Hamnet Node in Germany you might want to look into this. The Club is funding emergency power hardware for relevant locations.
