Much like that pesky postal service, the FAA is losing money hand over fist! /s

Point withstanding, I have flown into LGA enough times to recognize the controller’s voice. He has always seemed on top of it.

To me, it seems like the UAL emergency had him task saturated, and when that happens something eventually slips through the cracks.

Sounds like the firetruck was cleared to cross when the CRJ was still on the roll. 2 dead on the scene (presumably the pilots), and four critically injured (presumably the firefighters). I can’t imagine the forward FA was uninjured.

I read someones suggestion of banning politics excluding anything older than 20 years, that way the historical stuff still makes it through but shitposts like this get filtered out. I’m all for it!
Right? And to think someone got paid for this revelation.

Good job dodging rule 2!

Could you do lemmy a favor and keep your political shit to the appropriate communities? I’m here for cool pictures not your constant political posting.

I don’t think people are only staying three days for lack of activities, I think it’s the cost of staying there as compared to the rest of Asia that cuts their trip short.

I partially disagree, I don’t think they can compete with asia, but at the same time I think they are massively shooting themselves in the foot in the long term.

I’m sure Ford can’t make a Focus for the same profit Toyota can make a Camry. But imagine you are a college student/fresh graduate and you need a car. Well Ford decided to kill the Focus/Fusion so you have to buy a Camry, and now when you go to buy your big boy car, instead of going straight to the Explorer/F-150, you’ve already popped your foreign car cherry, and as long as the Camry wasn’t a massive piece of shit, your going to look at Highlanders and Tundras.

So not only is Ford not even giving young people a chance to form brand loyalty, now they have to compete on price with the models that they have/had better margins on.

You don’t have to make huge profits on your sedans, just don’t lose your ass and look at it as an investment. But as with all shareholder appeasement strategies, the cats out of the bag, they’ve traded brand loyalty for a short term share increase, and now they don’t know what to do now that the market turned around anyway.

…and yes, bring back the Continental, that was one of the better designs to come out of the big three in a while.

From what I’ve been told, the Concorde went more junior than one would think. Instead of a leisurely ~6 hour flight, followed by a layover in London or Paris, you were ripping there and back in a day for half the pay.

Still would be an awesome type rating to have though.

Weird how the second we weren’t subsidizing this with everyone’s tax dollars, the electric car market started dying…
