I'm basically here to listen. Am here for #politics...yeah and maybe a bit more. My personal motto: "Always Bring A Book".

I'm glad Dominion voting systems is suing Fox News. Lawyers for Fox are saying that 1.6 billion dollars overstates the damages done to Dominion voting systems, but I maintain the damage done to our country...to our national trust in voting is incalculable. Tens of millions of people have been convinced by Fox that the 2020 election was stolen. $1.6 billion is chump change for what Rupert Murdoch and his gang of thugs at Fox News did to us.

Calls grow for stronger ethics rules for Supreme Court justices, families

Growing scrutiny of the spouses of Supreme Court justices is now raising calls for more stringent ethics rules governing the judges and their families. The latest example of a judicial spouse winning unwanted attention is Jane Roberts, who is married to Chief Justice John Roberts. House Democrats file resolution to expel George Santos

Several House Republicans told Axios they would support the resolution.

Axios
@JamesDBartlett3 @TeaPain You're probably right, James. I read the Libertarian platform back in 2015-2016. Horrible.
@TeaPain I wish. I strongly believe in a 2 party system (minimally a 2 party system - better if there were more competitive parties) but the present day GOP must go. The GOP is a toxic party right now.
@DeeLeftMom The other thing Republicans have been wanting to get rid of for many years is veterans healthcare. They want to privatize VA healthcare. For some, privatization would be helpful, but for many veterans, privatization would be a nightmare. GOP are staying mum about wanting to do away with veteran healthcare right now because they don't want to lose the military vote.

@RitchieTorres

Republican’s first response to pretty much everything: “Shoot at it.”

The irony is that if it was shot down sooner, they’d have been on Faux News criticizing him for allowing the military to shoot it down over land. Biden handled it properly.

“George Santos — if that is his name — will be at the State of the Union. His presence alone disgraces the entire Congress. The tolerance of his criminality, fraudulence and psychotic lying by the Republican Congress is evidence of decay and malfeasance that beggar description.”

The state of the union is perilous

Two Nazis were arrested before they were able to launch their attack against Baltimore’s power grid. Their goal was to cause chaos, mayhem and death by plunging a troubled American city into darkness. How many more extremists are ready to commit acts of political violence against innocent Americans, critical infrastructure and vital institutions? How many are out there? Are they organized? Well-funded? Emboldened? Do they stand outside of society, or are they part of a political coalition that wants them because without them the party can’t win? Who are they? Why would any American choose to become a Nazi?
