To benefit local, regional, and global communities, we conduct scientific research to advance conservation and management of natural resources and we educate the public, scientists, and policy makers about the results and implications of this research.

Conservation Science Global’s (CSG) team of wildlife biologists and data scientists offer a breadth of research capabilities for wildlife and ecosystem conservation and management.

Did you know that *both* Bald and Golden Eagles live in New York state? Both species do scavenge on game gut piles, a great source of winter food *if* they don't contain lead. That's why New York Hunters for Eagle Conservation is offering NY hunters up to $60 back on one box of lead-free ammo. Learn more here: https://huntersforeagleconservation.org/new-york/

Condor Shooting Under Investigation in California | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

Sacramento, California – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is investigating the shooting of an endangered California condor found in Hollister, California in July 2022. The condor was found deceased on private property directly off Lone Tree Road in Hollister. The Service’s Wildlife Forensics Laboratory conducted a necropsy and determined the cause of death to be trauma from a gunshot wound.

Ever wondered how biologists reach eagles' nests to get telemetry units on the nestlings? It helps to have a utility bucket truck and a wildlife biologist who is also a tree-climbing expert. This May, CSG and the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks placed telemetry units on an additional 15 bald eagle nestlings, who will add to our growing trove of data about how these birds are using the landscape across the state and beyond. #BaldEagles #RaptorResearch https://www.ksnt.com/.../watch-bald-eagle-chicks-banded.../
We are collaborating with #ParksCanada and #BernheimArboretumAndResearchForest to learn more about mate selection and territory use among golden eagles. Here you can read about Athena, who migrates between both organizations' lands each year, and how she may help us all uncover more about the habits of her species.

Love, Loss, and Raptors: New tree cameras aim to provide insight into Golden Eagle behaviour in Wapusk National Park

Learn more about research to understand the golden eagle’s breeding and nesting behaviour and its migration between Kentucky and Wapusk National Park.

Here's a short piece on the Eastern Golden Eagle Working Group, which met at the Bernheim Arboretum & Rsearch Forest earlier in March. CSG's Trish Miller attended, along with our frequent collaborator, Todd Katzner, interviewed here.

Bernheim’s research ‘critical’ to eastern golden eagle conservation

Researchers at the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest have spent nearly a decade tracking golden eagles as they migrate between Kentucky and Canada. Now, the Eastern Golden Eagle Working Group is now using that research to develop a conservation plan.
