My colleague @schopie1 and I have been talking for some time about what might be possible if academic annual review processes were seen as formative (what will make it possible for you do great work in the years ahead) rather than summative (did you do enough this year). He's actively working on a framework for Formative Annual Review (FAR), and I am super excited about where it might lead us.

Fellow #LibrarySchool instructors, please, please reconsider using Harry Potter as an example for anything (cataloging, outreach, etc.)

This is unnecessarily stressful to our #trans students and #allies

There are so many other books.

Just please reconsider

Take your paid time off if you get it--all of it

Take your sick days

Take your holidays in full

Take your weekends and your evenings or whatever time off you get

Life is short, and the workplace will never love you back
