For perspective - 13 million barrels is 26% of today’s roughly 50 million barrels of oil used for transportation daily.

By 2035, IEA sees EVs (including passenger cars and heavy trucks) displacing 13 million barrels of oil per day: https://www.axios.com/newsletters/axios-generate-60e9dc30-8bc2-11ef-8c54-01db7fe4471e.html via Ben Geman

The low inverter in the prior message is a 25 kW unit, while these are 50 kW units - four in total. It’s a nice location for solar with minimal obstructions on the roof, and no shade from surrounding structures. Plenty of access around the edges of the project pleased the fire inspector.

A seemingly straightforward run from the inverters, over the edge of the roof into the switchgear and disconnects - being headed inside to interconnect behind the meter.

The #HarvardUniversity rooftop #solar project is moving along. Racking, ballast, modules, and DC wiring is complete. Now installing inverters, and starting on the AC wiring.

This post I made was wrong - thought these were two other modules, with one being based on the 34% cell. It’s a different cell at 30%, with module at 25% - which is cool as hell!

Just not a 30% module.

One of my earlier solar jobs was with a group that designed and deployed high concentration dual axis trackers. They looked great, were very expensive, and never really worked.

FYI - I’ve been curating solar related news on my own site for a month or two now.

This will be my permanent posting location. Eventually, I’ll get those posts coming here, but that’ll take a little web design time.

Is this like in a spa where they use mud to make you beautifuller? :-)

Anyone know if this is a viable technique for cleaning? I've never worked on a desert based facility.

What an interesting concept - there’s massive money in being the only one left as long as you manage the crash well.

#ExxonMobil’s purchase of shale producer #Pioneer this month & #Chevron’s deal this week to acquire #Hess amount to the biggest consolidation in #BigOil for two decades. The tie-ups are a bet that the IEA’s vision of shrinking #oil & #gas demand is wrong https://www.ft.com/content/02fb0da4-a834-4ac5-80f0-a0107596bd37
