New to Mastadon, never on twitter, abhor everything Meta. While the world falls apart, I am still passoinate about improving conditions in my watershed so all species thrive. Salmon rule! Work doing watershed restoration, specialize in bioengineering in the original sense of the word. Mitigating erosion with low cost, low tech, structures, using natural materials found on site. Collecting and spreading native plant seed where ever i go, hiking, backpacking and playing the fiddle keeps me sane.

Someday all the morons who said “both parties are the same” are going to have to explain how they contributed to the resurgence of infectious, easily preventable diseases that maim and kill people.

You dumbfucks.

US military stops shooting animals to use as paramedic practice but still allows , stabbing, burning, and use of blunt force objects, on live animals. Being shot is a quicker way to die than being bludgeoned, stabbed, or burnt. Wtf , who does the stabbing of pigs and goats. Do they have a guy who's job is to torture animals . I hate humans, fuck the arrogance of men. This is a nightmare world, the entire species is psycho.

In November, in advance of the Canada-Alberta oil pipeline MOU, coastal First Nations came together with David Eby to sign the declaration to uphold bill C-48, the oil tanker moratorium act.

Please encourage your organization (social movement group, church, school, union, etc.) to sign the North Coast Protection Declaration, to send a message to the federal government that you want to keep British Columbia’s North Coast free from oil tankers.

More on Trump's undoing of formaldehyde regulations. The Biden EPA studies deemed formaldehyde exposure in any amount to be harmful. It is a cancer causing chemical. Biden admin strictly regulated formaldehyde in products we come into daily contact with. Trump's EPA is undoing the regulations . Formaldehyde is used in everything, from furniture, building materials, cosmetics clothing , bamboo cutting boards, and so much more.
Voting is about harm reduction, not ideal candidates. Fck Jill Stein and anyone who voted for her.

I finally got around to processing several #WildClay samples I'd collected over the last half of the year. I really love having this very tangible way to reflect on the places I've been. I've made some predictions of what results I might get from my test tiles, but mostly, I'm prepared to be surprised--which is what makes it a fun and inspiring way to work. I wanted to share my blog post "Earthen Rainbow: Decorating with Clay" for those who haven't seen it. https://potterybyosa.com/blogs/clay-people/earthen-rainbow-working-with-wild-clay-terra-sigillata-at-midrange
Earthen Rainbow: Decorating with Clay

"Earthen Rainbow: Working with Wild Clay Terra Sigillata at Midrange" is an article I wrote describing the experience of learning to notice clay, reconnecting with the land, and how it's inspired my studio practice. It's also a technical guide for other clay artists. I turned the article into a zine to share my experim

Got the news we were dreading, though we delayed the timber harvest plan in our neighborhood for six months, the CA board of forestry approved it today. It involves cutting the inner gorge of the mainstem of the creek, and two tributaries which includes all of the salmon spawning ground. The slopes are steep and prone to massive landslides, and they will be cutting many redwoods on 65% slope adjacent to the creek. The harvest plan included many untruths, and is written so poorly that an RPF high up in Calfire, (the governing body that over sees timber harvesting in CA) , wrote comments against this most shitty plan . But the bof has never seen a harvest plan it didn't like. This is devastating for our watershed. It is very hard listening to chainsaws all day and big redwoods falling. Our Creek was in recovery from the logging during the 1950-70's alas. Greed destroys everything beautiful and healthy and healing.
