I meant the above as a joke but it did end up becoming a problem: I started having leg stiffness that’s been disrupting sleep. Coaches kept advising more and more changes to diet and exercise, and they weren’t helping.
Luckily I knew about “chasing red” from Sandi Metz, so instead I went back to a last-known-good state—objectively worse diet and exercise, but now I don’t have leg stiffness. And now I can reintroduce one change at a time and keep my wellness “green”.
I’m not saying that the coaches are wrong; and my leg stiffness may come back; and I will likely end up applying exactly the approach they said—eventually. But I *am* saying that their approach “the change caused a problem, so make MORE changes” seems ineffective, as much in health as in software.
