High school math teacher trying to get his Master’s Degree and still find time to read, play video games, and exercise.

So far, I’m just on here a lot.

@bookstodon A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab was a fun little read! It wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was a nice little adventure in a rather interesting world.

The sequel, A Gathering of Shadows, is much more interesting! The world is so fascinating and engaging. And the characters from the first book are expanded on very nicely. I’m not finished with it yet, but I’m excited to finish this trilogy soon!

Went on Reddit for the first time since switching to Lemmy and Mastodon.

Got into an argument about guns being unsafe instantly.

I’m glad I’m back hahaha

I did eventually get my cake decorating head back on today. I’m pretty pleased with how the cake turned out…hopefully it will taste ok too!

My favorite park especially in the wintertime. Grasses here are beautiful. (Dorostkar Park, Reno NV)
I was told by my mentor that I should try using only about 70% of the darks I have been using. This was my first attempt.

Also saw some other friends who posed some interesting questions:
"What if you were the size of a gumnut?"
"What if tongue?"
"Are you following me?"

@bookstodon Between Two Fires is beautifully tragic, horrific, and bittersweet to the end. I’ve never felt such fear for characters before, and I’ve never felt so much relief if/when the characters pull themselves out of the trouble they find themselves in.

Thomas finding some redemption after living a life of a sinning brigand.

Delphine finding the ability to lead while nearly being a teenager.

Father Matthieu being the best priest he can be.

Fantastic. #books #bookstodon
