Public high school (Title I) teacher in NYC - adjunct in the fall. Mastodon confuses me but so does Instagram 🤷🏽‍♀️ Love decolonizing my classroom and watching my students shine and grow with knowledge ♊️🪬✊🏾🌹🪴

To all those out there who live their lives, never bother anyone with their ideology, their religions, who do not hate, who are not bigots, who don’t attack other people who are just trying to live their lives like everyone else.

Thank you. Carry on being you. 🖖🖖🖖

Looks like Mastodon's active user base has increased by 110K over the last day. Not bad.

A Republican got offended I called the founding U.S. citizens "colonizers,"—rebuking me that “the original 13 colonies were beacons of freedom.”

I asked him to repeat that part...slowly. Apparently "colonies" is respectful—but calling those who built colonies "colonizers" is not.🤔

Also, I'm sure the enslaved, Native Americans, women, and anyone not a WASP wealthy land owner would likely disagree with that whole "beacon of freedom" part.

Judge Jackson recusing herself from the Harvard affirmative action case despite zero financial benefit to her staying on, & Alito, Thomas, & Barrett refusing to recuse themselves from numerous cases where they gained significant financial benefit, tells you everything you need to know about progressive integrity & conservative corruption. #ExpandTheCourt

Thinking about how several states have laws banning people from taking newborn puppies away from their mothers before 8 weeks because it is traumatic—yet only 16 states (15 Dem & 1 GOP) and 0 federal laws mandate paid leave for new mothers.

USA treats dogs & puppies better than moms and babies😳

Eid Mubarak to all!

Eid isn't a new holiday to North America. African Muslims arrived as early as 1503, many among them shrewd scholars. Up to 30% of enslaved Africans were Muslim & maintained their Islamic practices. Eid has been celebrated here longer than the USA has existed.❤️

SCOTUS struck down AA b/c it’s allegedly discriminatory. Here’s the Facts:
•AA benefitted white women more than all other groups COMBINED—plaintiffs never complained about that
•43% of white Harvard students are legacy or athlete students, of which 75% would not be admitted otherwise—plaintiffs never complained about that
•Asians are 6% of the population & 26% of Harvard admissions—plaintiffs never complained about that

This SCOTUS ruling is 100% anti-fact & 100% anti-Black racism.

The raid comes ~3 months after members of
@AtlSolFund, including Kautz, announced they'd learned the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) planned to charge them under Georgia’s state-level RICO statute:

Atlanta Activists Say Prosecutors Plan to Indict them on RICO Charges - UNICORN RIOT

Atlanta, GA – Community organizations involved in the ongoing campaign to defend the South River Forest outside Atlanta, Georgia and ‘Stop Cop City’ say state prosecutors are planning on releasing indictments in the coming weeks charging them as a “criminal organization” under RICO statutes. The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO, targets organized […]

Target's decision to pull some Pride items is a huge mistake. Why? Because this whole thing is solely about bigots being starved for outrage. I wrote about it.
