I have another video today! It's about old-school video projectors and how amazing they were.

Seriously, not only is it almost unbelievable that this even works, but it's doing full HD video with incredibly good image quality. It's also a royal PITA.

Video projectors used to be ridiculously cool

@mhoye fix the money, fix the world.

The true fascists won't tolerate discourse. Which is why they tend to silence via violence. There are left fascists and there are right fascists.

If your argument cannot stand against free speech, then it isn't a good argument. It doesn't matter what was said, words are not violence.

I'm not a republican or a democrat. I believe in free speech. I believe in debate. I believe in the ideals of public discourse. I abhor hate, and I truly disdain violence.

@smallcircles Because when you heavily tax the rich, they leave and take their $ with them and everyone gets poorer still. The government is also an extremely inefficient system for wealth redistribution.

The better way to ensure prosperity for the people? Stop watering down the money...

Inflation is the system by which the poor are invisibly taxed while they dont have means to invest to overcome inflation. Hard money allows them to save without it getting inflated away.

@vertiser for more censorship resistance, check out nostr. See, if the owner of this instance decided to silence or censor, or was pressured by a government they could... readily and easily.

With nostr, I can publish to multiple relays, and I own my own data, so I can use my private key to post where I want. My user identity isnt tied to a server someone else manages.

If a nostr relay becomes subject to government coercion or decides to start censoring, I could stop posting to that relay.

@JonBowie which is no different than censoring what people say, write, etc. Its all gotten out of hand.
@smallcircles wouldn't be the first time we've had an executive ignore the judicial branch. There's too much hype right now. Everyone is screaming and its stupid. We aren't getting anywhere this way. There's a reason the people voted to dismantle the system, even if I don't agree with them, I can understand why they did.
@smallcircles might be a bad idea... Our jobs are getting eroded by AI. Not sure giving them more reasons to choose machines over humans helps.

@mauro This is why I really like running arch with btrfs and snapper. Snap-pac creates a btrfs snapshot whenever I install packages and updates, and I have it setup so I can boot into readonly snapshots, so at least I have a functional system even if there was an issue.

I had the same issue with nvidia for many years, which is why I switched to AMD and haven't looked back.
