Now that Musk and minions are pulling the rug out from under all third-party API work -- the new policy is "pay or leave" after years of a no-charge basic tier that helped make Twitter popular -- a lot of developers are going to have to make some hard choices.

(Remember Musk's claim that he'd put big decisions like this one to a "vote"? Of course you do.)

* Jan 31, 2023: 9,322,049 accounts

Not as much growth as December, but this is still great growth!

If you are still using Twitter, do not -- DO NOT -- use direct messages for anything you consider sensitive in any way. This goes triple for the journalists who insist on pouring their work into a site whose sociopath CEO has utter contempt for the press.
