Let's talk Scout by Oink Games! Another small box game we got out at @tabletopcleve . I finally got my hands on it at PAXU and I'm so happy I did. Very satisfying ladder game that is another perfect pub game to play over snacks or drinks. More thoughts on Scout soon!
We got Make It Happen out to the table with our good friends Matt and Laurie (and new friends Jordan and Bernie) at a game day at Tabletop Cleveland late last year. Had a great time with them and looking forward to more time spent around the table!
It's Cardboard Time! Episode 54 is now live (Anchor.fm/cardboardtime and all major platforms). On today's episode,
@ShearBoardom and I discuss our top 10 games of all time! Tune in now to this very special episode we recorded live at PAX Unplugged 2022.
#top10 #boardgamesI picked up Dungeons Dice and Danger (Triple D) at the PAXU BGG flea market and played quite a few times solo. I did quite enjoy the exploration component of it and humorous takes, but I'm not sure about its longevity in comparison to other verb & writes I have.
Hachette Board Games looks like they have some amazing offerings for next year they were previewing at PAXU. Especially looking forward to Rauha and Tribes of the Wind. We've also been playing Vaalbara quite a bit on Board Game Arena, a bit reminiscent of Citadels but much snappier.
Got caught up to day three of Daily Shake. Took the homes first day and shops days 2 & 3. Should get that shop bonus no problem (famous last words).
Let's talk about Akropolis by
@HachetteBoardgamesUS for a minute. I have a ton of tile placement games at this point, but this LITERALLY takes it to another level. I haven't been able to fully wrap my head around how to best build up my city yet, but I'm loving figuring it out.
Medium has been on my "need to try" list after enjoying Green Team Wins and That Old Wallpaper by Nathan Thornton (
@stormchasergames ). A satisfying game to watch even when it's not your turn and definitely on my shortlist to purchase for the holidays coming up.
It's Cardboard Time! Episode 52 is now live (anchor.fm/cardboardtime and most platforms). On today's episode, Beth Jackson and Angel Drummond join me to talk about their experiences in the industry as well as Final Girl, Adventure Games Monochrome Inc, and Snow Time!
I decided to dip my toe into the Final Girl universe...not knowing if I'd want to dive head first into the lake. Laurie was able to take down Hans with her axe and using the secret tunnel she found. I'll have my thoughts on it on Tuesday's episode.
