AYYYYY! Second tech restructure and third boss of the year! I love working in corporate software! 🙃
The idea of exploring Rust has really made me want to try some other languages too. I've always seen Kotlin but never considered it since it seemed really undersupported the last time I was looking at new languages. It seems like it's gotten a good bit of traction now. But I've always been team Scala. Mainly for its build tools and ability to use Java libs out of the box.
Maybe I just need to play around with some of the new things in Scala to scratch this itch ot something.

Like I want to separate my server and client code but I also want to be able to control everything from one "root" project and npm's setup just doesn't allow for that...

So now I'm just stuck over thinking how to best layout this project cause part of it uses webpack, the other part doesn't and at the end of the day I just stuck with wishing there was a nice sbt-like tool for Javascript and indecision

So I'm quickly figuring out that one of my biggest barriers to making progress on my personal coding projects is that I have such strong paralysis about project structure when it's not clear how to set it up.
Like when I'm using something like grade or sbt it's no problem
But when I'm using something like Javascript I have no idea how I need to set things up because the package manager has no way of describing project layouts...

I guess it's time for a proper #introduction

I'm Calder, I am computer developer what tries to do aa bit of everything. I do a lot of web development and general applications for my job and in my free time I do just about anything from game development to AI to my own websites.

I also play Destiny 2, DnD, a bunch of other games and just started getting into FFXIV.

Hello? Is this thing on?
