Another brain blast in the shower, per usual.

I've been trying to land on at least a nugget of a story idea for my kart racer game (which is loosely set in a theme park). The idea is that the theme park owner has decided to replace the mascots / animal characters with animatronics, presumably to make more money or whatever, and you (a mascot) have to defeat them all to prove your worth and eventually defeat the owner of the theme park as well.

It sounds and is stupid simple, but that's all I really need. Just something tangible to build some characters and dialogue around so there's at least a reason you're racing in go-karts.

Plus, it has the benefit of having some undertones of AI and automation and fighting against it, which I do like. And, best of all, I would have an excuse for boss characters with crappy animations I made -- because they'd all be animatronics 😎
