Writer hoping to pursue self-publishing in the near future. Lover of all things horror, fantasy, and sci-fi (especially with a humorous bent).

When not writing, I work in science and have far too many hobbies including gaming and art, especially art of my writing.

Hoping to connect with other writers regardless of genre so we can enthuse about our works and the joy of writing.

Considering I only started actually working on things this week, I feel like I'm making a hell of a comeback. (Let's just ignore that these were originally last month's goals...)

Today's #BlogPost is a character profile! Say hello to Tony, Michael's right hand fairy in the The Virias Treaty. He's the one with the contacts, the know-how, and the definitely completely innocent past...

Character Profile: Tony

Character profile for the Twyned Earth character Tony. Small in stature, big in presence, shady in contacts. This fairy gets things done.

August has been a total write-off. Annoying but it happens. However, I'm no longer ill, I no longer feel like I'm drowning at work, and I'm back to exercising and eating properly.

Got my writing club this evening so hoping that will help get me that inspiration going again.

Will just bump my August goals to September and pick up again from there, hoping for the best.

The Wordpress post scheduler was mostly good but there was a couple of little niggles that weren't clicking with me, so with so many messy drafts in strange orders (due to my unpublishing and rewriting of a lot of old stuff), I've tried to come up with a different method. As usual, all my organisational issues land me back in Trello haha. We'll see how well this works and if it clicks.

#WritingWonders Day 26 - Antagonist POV: Do you see what you do as evil?

Villain 1 - Evil?? What? Of course not! I am trying to fix the world, to put things back to how they're supposed to be! I will do anything I can to help Villain 2 achieve his vision for a better world and a better future.

Villain 2 - Evil? Well, duh. That is literally the whole point. Just... don't tell that other guy, okay?

#WritingWonders Day 24 - What's a common occurrence in your story that would be odd here?

Michael the MC often carries around his best friend Tony in his pocket. Tony is 4 inches tall, which makes this a lot easier than it would be for any pairs of best friends here.

#WritingWonders Day 23 - Do any of the side characters want to smack the MC?

Might be quicker to answer which of the side characters DON'T. Tony we've already covered - between the drinking and owing his cousin money, yeah Tony would give him a good clout. The MC sort of kidnaps Ruaridh, so there's certainly animosity there. He frustrates the hell out of Sharneth at times because he won't let her shoot all the people she wants to. Ilgatrah is probably the only one the MC gets a free pass from.

#WritingWonders Day 22 - Does your MC cause drama or resolve it within their friend group?

Michael doesn't go out of his way to cause drama and usually keeps to himself, though his drinking and owing Tony's cousin money causes drama between those two.

His main role in the story is actually to resolve drama. He's not really got any useful skills for the situations, but he keeps enlisting people who do. His main responsibility rapidly becomes stopping these people from killing each other.

#WritingWonders Day 21 - What is your MC's drink of choice?

I'll tell you what it's NOT! Sambucca. He won it in a raffle though, and it'd go to waste otherwise.

His actual drink of choice is good whisky. His second drink of choice is bad whisky.
