It looks like the support account for the bird app deleted the tweets referencing their idiotic policy change. In addition, the "Social Platforms Policy" page is returning a 404 error. However, users are still forbidden from sending Mastodon links in DMs. https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/social-platforms-policy

Did anybody else get a nasty surprise when they tried to send their Mastodon link in a DM on the birdsite? At least it was in hot pink.
