Disinformation has long been a concern on social media. Musk's selling the blue tick makes Twitter more vulnerable to algorithm gaming by malign individuals, cashing in on the perception of legitimacy and the boost to visibility given by the blue tick. It's evidence that Musk neither understands how social media works, nor cares about his corporate responsibility to others.
