Welcome to Aoir.social!

This server is intended to be for members of the Association of Internet Researchers.

As of now (March, 2023) we're only letting the folks who volunteered to be moderators join. Our idea is to give them time to learn the system and best practices.

After that, we want to let AOIR members sign up in waves.

Our goal includes having our server be a good "fedizen" on the fediverse, and of course to explore this new world beyond corporate social media.

Winter vacation wonderland.

In the spirit of academic generosity, we'll be launching a bibliographic collection on #disconnection (on Zotero)

A little more on the content of the book: The Introduction discusses what everyday life is, the role of media in it, and what it means that our lives are more digital now. How has everyday life changed after the smartphone? This was very fun and difficult to write, and it is intended to be useful also if you don’t read the rest of the book.
