New Comcast patent application opens up a whole can of worms about the way people watch movies and TV shows. One of those things that some people would probably find genuinely helpful but also contributes to the wide-scale erosion of media literacy and critical thought.

I don't know, seems like a bad thing for a news organization to run ads lying to their readers. Kinda runs counter to the entire point of the operation, and torpedoes their credibility to have them allowing this.

Last Roblox thing for now. In all the hubbub about exploiting kids and misleading shareholders, let's not forget the blatant trademark infringement on the platform, which is so inherent to what Roblox is that even their patent filings do it.

Motorola has applied for a patent on a "coordinated degradation mode" where parents will be able to fake a low battery on a phone and then give it to the kids, with the device "shutting down" after that battery runs out.

Managing screen time can be rough, but there have to be better ways than this.
