New Comcast patent application opens up a whole can of worms about the way people watch movies and TV shows. One of those things that some people would probably find genuinely helpful but also contributes to the wide-scale erosion of media literacy and critical thought.

Every now and then I find a patent application that makes me think about the person behind it and what their life must have been like.
The more I try to figure out his arms, the funnier it gets.

Motorola has applied for a patent on a "coordinated degradation mode" where parents will be able to fake a low battery on a phone and then give it to the kids, with the device "shutting down" after that battery runs out.

Managing screen time can be rough, but there have to be better ways than this.
