Just working on some trends and forecasting for national production of renewables. Example attached. Looking to produce a R/shiny dashboard, so you could select countries and types of renewable/non-renewable sources. Useful? Comments and suggestions welcome.

There's quite a bit of debate about NHS outcomes, particularly for diseases such as cancers. Such comparisons are not always straightforward, but I'm not sure sufficient allowance is being made for the cumulative effects of restricted NHS resourcing. I've done an animated graph showing lower NHS spending over a number of years compared against hi-income peers. Also showing GDP/capita over same period. Maybe low GDP is the reason UK can't afford a better health service?
Given the lengthy period this year when England & Wales have experienced excess deaths, I have restarted my weekly comparison of provisional deaths with regional, age and gender breakdowns. Although others produce clear comparisons of deaths against a historical expectation, I compare against a forecast, offering an alternative comparison. The tool is online for you to explore at https://ukpublichealthdata.shinyapps.io/weekly_deaths/ - all comments and suggestions welcome. #UK #PublicHealth

ONS deaths data has been released for week ending 28 Oct. 1,486 more deaths were recorded in-week compared to the 2015-19 average. That’s 15% more, which is another significant excess. Year-to-date there have been 471,064 deaths recorded which is 7% more than the 2015-19 avg.
