I kind of like it, but it only barely classifies as a proof of concept and will need a lot more work to be usable, which I will probably never get to.

I made a web version of the sea-surface-temperature anomaly plot, that was shared a lot a few days ago: https://mapeper.github.io/sea_surface_temperature_anomaly/

1/? Kindness in television
I recently watched as much #Taskmaster as I could get my hands on - I laughed until I cried!
But thinking on it more, I find myself fascinated by the format and how very #kind it is. Alex Horne, the creator, talks in interviews about how it was hard to initially get #comedian contestants because they feared they'd be cruelly made fun of, in this 'competitive' task based show. But Alex creates tasks as 'the first half of a joke' and lets them find their own funny.
My current hobby programming project got me into a math rabbit hole: I needed to calculate the shape of the intersection of the sRGB color-space with a Y-plane in the xyY space and couldn't find the answer online.
To solve it, I used symbolic math in #Python with #sympy for the first time. Was a lot of fun, despite some smaller hiccups.
The rendered notebook describing my solution is here: https://mapeper.github.io/sRGB_Y_section_in_xyY_space/ (⚠ comparatively large page)
So my math education wasn't useless after all! 🥳
I somehow felt inclined to also try my hand at creating a #fedifinder -like tool, but with the premise, that it *really* does not require giving any data or access to your account to someone else's server.
Because of technical reasons, it can only be used with a CORS-proxy or by temporarily disabling CORS-checks, though.
Don't expect too much. It doesn't match up to Luca's app in the slightest and is more like a proof-of-concept and fun-project.
