She was an American who won the Nobel Peace Prize for helping to create and lead the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF). She was devoutly religious, and devoted to the teachings of Christ. She opposed U.S. entry into WWI and supported rights of conscientious objectors.

Most schools teach her biography (minus mention of her political views). She is a celebrated disability rights advocate. Despite not being able to see or hear, she was a prolific writer.

I swear on all that is holy that the Democrats are just one Chuck Schumer press conference away from getting demolished in the 2026 mid-terms. I don't understand how the Democrats' "leadership," such as it is, does not appreciate how tone deaf he is. Lowering prices of necessary commodities to "pre-Trump" levels is not a plan or a platform. It's simply the bare minimum people such as myself expect to see. If you can't deliver on issues like universal basic income, get the fuck out of our way.
