YOUVE READ THIS

YOU CANT UNREAD IT

Instead of “content warning” the option should be called “description” or something. Just having a couple of words saying what your toot is about is great for stopping spoilers etc. Its a great quick way to let peeps have more agency in what they read/see - “eh I’m not in the mood for this”.

Calling it “content warning” sounds like self-censorship and is off-putting. It puts peeps on edge. When in reality, it’s just a subject heading.

@host is there a reason I can't follow https://c.im/@jamesgunn? I can't find him in searches and on desktop the follow button either directs me to search or create a new account

If someone tells you they designed a great solo board game with a bluffing mechanic, they're just lying to themselves.

Always boggles me #DeepSpace9 never did an show where Jake finds out that Ezri survived joining the Dax Symbiont with zero prep & Trill society actively perpetuates the myth of “suitable hosts”. That would’ve been a great ethical dilemma for both Jake & Ezri: When is truth damaging?

I think you could call it “Bliss”. As in “ignorance is…”

so basically yeah I think a less off putting name would make it a default and that way we wouldn’t have to worry about what “should/shouldn’t” be behind a warning.

I suppose the draw back is clickbait/lying? But not really because why put your toot behind a description if all you want to trick people into seeing your post?

This may be a moot toot as tootle is not working atm (spinny wheel forever)

Currently trying to decide between these two apps: Mastodon and Tootle.

Tootle is has the far better name and is much more customizable and has quicker access to local and federated feeds BUT it’s threads scroll from bottom to top

Mastodon is closer to twitter’s UI and and threads scroll from top to bottom BUT the local feed is the community tab in the search section (can’t find federated)

Stay tuned for more
