The request for sovereignty has led some individuals who assert their affection and esteem for our community to label us as terrorists. They seem to convincingly forget the events of 1984, in which thousands of Sikhs all over India were subjected to rape, torture and genocide at the hands of nationalist Hindu groups. These acts were never characterized as terrorism in India.

Thousands of Sikhs throughout 90's as well were murdered in fake encounters by the Indian state. The inconsistency in labeling is concerning and perhaps indicates a lack of understanding of the terminology in question. Here is the definition of terrorist along with some recent visuals and by global standards, the term "terrorists" applies to these Indians. NOT Sikhs.
