I know the world around me better than everyone else. By observing the #mycelium networks and tracking their movements by watching the fruiting of mushrooms...I can find food for my family. I can find medicine. I know which poison, and which heal. I'm self taught, but know that I am my tribe's medicine woman despite the assimilation that tried to take this knowledge away from the world.

Tone policing case in point. A man at the Metrolink stop lighting up a cigarette next to my baby's pram in front of the no smoking sign. I tell him not to smoke near my baby, and that smoking isn't allowed...and he tells me that I could have asked him in a nicer way. I shouldn't have to ask him at all.

I'm tone policed all of the time. Friends, co-workers, neighbours. No one likes to hear an American accent in the UK...especially a direct one. I won't put up with people saying I'm not nice enough to them when they are rude to me anymore. FFS I'm done.
