Training days in Chengdu 🧜♂️💙
In Chengdu we met wonderful people — old and new friends — including Eva and her family. We first met them at the Mermaid Convention in Spain, and it was great to reconnect. Eva and her husband run a diving school in Chengdu (@eva.leafdive), and she is also a well-known underwater performer.
I spent three days training with her: 3 hours a day, focusing on technique, safety and control under water. It was intense but very inspiring. ✨🌊
Mermaiding with my hubby in Chengdu 🧜♂️💙 Before starting my advanced course with Eva from LEAFDIVE, we had the chance to join an introduction class. Many people came to try freediving for the first time 🫧, and some tried mermaiding as well. It was great that my boyfriend could experience it for the first time too 💫 Thank you @eva.leafdive for making this wonderful movie of us 🎥✨
✨ Our much-praised and successful performance at LoveSwim has already led to our very first show outside of Gay Swim Amsterdam!

At LoveSwim 2025, we gave a mermaiding demonstration. We had practiced four times during Gay Swim Amsterdam training sessions and even got our own lane for it. Honestly, that wasn’t nearly enough to pull off a real synchronized routine — we probably would’ve needed ten times as much practice. But I’m so proud we still managed to show how beautiful and fun mermaiding can be!
Last year at LoveSwim 🏊♂️ we had a bit of trouble with the ladder, but this year we’ve got great news: one of our amazing members 💪 built a custom wooden ladder, and we’re super proud of it! 😎
Now everyone can get in and out of the water easily during the swim race. I had the honour of trying it out today. The stairs worked perfectly. My backwards dive... less so. 😅
