Big fan of the new paper from Julie Tolu at my former group at ETH. They investigated selenium, arsenic, and sulfur speciation (with new analytical techniques!) in soils along the Kohala rainfall gradient on the Big Island of Hawaii 🌋🌧️🌱. Selenium was found to mainly be in organic form in soils, in small hydrophilic molecules 🔎. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-022-34731-6
