I'm AJ McKenna. My pronouns are she/her. I write stuff, mainly at http://wrestlingemily.blogspot.com .
Tim Minchin going on Newsnight tonight to whine about 'cancel culture'. Has he been spit-roasting with Schofield? They only ever pivot to this shite when they're worried about being outed as dangers. It really is the last refuge of the scoundrel.
I've actually seen frazzledrip and it's really not that impressive. The baby kicks Hillary's ass for most of the video and then someone has to hit it with a tranquilliser dart to give her a chance.
Vaping has made people weak. Do you think we LIKED the taste of cigarettes at first? Like Hell, we had to train ourselves to be addicts with good old-fashioned discipline and GUMPTION. The youth of today have gone soft from strawberry flavoured nicotine cartridges.

Newsie.social might have to go on mute. Apparently they're allowing Newsmax to set up shop on their instance, under the pretense that "all views are equally valid and deserving of protection."

Wrong. The higher principle is to not tolerate hate in any of its forms.

Every time I see a transphobic MP say they haven't got a penis I want to ask 'and has that always been the case?'

This is a Toot about Anneliese Dodds.

A lot of people call Kier Starmer a nonce defender, but that's unfair - he's an enthusiastic nonce himself
Whoever is in charge of British Cycling is a nonce

If you're a trans / non-binary person trying to get an orchidectomy via NHS England, it IS currently listed as part of their care package.

I got the below response after raising a complaint with my local ICB, when the EOEGS implied they wouldn't do such a thing themselves.

@SleepyCatten My ongoing NHS complaint includes a request for a standalone orchidectomy in order to remove the need for blockers. A request for HRT is a part of the same complaint.

I'm told the orchi request has been rejected once (a previous request) as the surgeon required a psych exam from a GIC before he would do it. Hoping for a response in the next 3 weeks.

@shiraz I'll be keeping my fingers figuratively crossed for you  πŸ€ž
@SleepyCatten You mean i could eventually get an Orchidectomy? Cool!!

@AlwaysAutumn Yes, but only as a final surgery option, which will terminate your care with a GIC 😞

They won't offer you an orchidectomy while waiting for vaginoplasty: they force you to choose πŸ˜–

Given the lack of current options for decent vaginoplasty within the UK though, it's definitely something to consider while saving up to have it done overseas.

@SleepyCatten i think at the moment i am looking at a PI ...although i don't know how that differs

@AlwaysAutumn If you ever want me to summarise some of the differerent types available, I'm happy to offer you my own personal understanding.

Alternatively, there is a list of the different methods on GenderKit:

https://genderkit.org.uk/article/vaginoplasty/

The biggest issue is that the main surgeons in the UK are less than stellar πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Bellringer has royally screwed up multiple surgeries 😞

Rashid is better, but has also screwed up some surgeries too πŸ˜–

Gender Construction Kit

@AlwaysAutumn Additionally, according to inside info from my electrolysis technician (who helps many patients to prepare for vaginoplasty & sits on a board with the surgeons), both Bellringer & Rashid are wrongly telling patients that they don't need to get electrolysis down below before surgery!!!

My electrolysis technician has seen the fallout from this from multiple patients: hairs growing inside their neovagina!!!

@SleepyCatten that’s so crazy…. So if you’ve had a orchi you can’t decide later that you want a full vaginoplasty or a zero depth ?? @AlwaysAutumn

@Elodie_lyra Technically you can decide this... but you'll need to be referred back to a GIC & join the back of the queue to be assessed again: there's no formal route to go back to them to ask for more care.

& there's no guarantee that they'll even agree to a further surgery request, even if you waited another 5-10 years on the waiting list again.

@AlwaysAutumn

@SleepyCatten @Elodie_lyra @AlwaysAutumn

Wow that's f^^ked. It's similarly bad here in Australia where we only have a couple of surgeons, blown out waiting lists, and our government doesn't cover the surgery under our universal health system - it's all private. We can access care here or better still in Thailand if we have the $$$. Thankful at least informed consent hrt is easier to access and soon every state bar New South Wales will have change of sex recognition without requiring GRS. Western Australia, our last state to have a board issuing GRC's will soon get up to date laws. We've had
almost self-ID (for folks on HRT) at a federal level since 2013.

It'd be nice if at least one country could get their shit together with everything and we could migrate. Would help trans lesbians currently in long distance relationships too.
πŸ˜†

@AlwaysAutumn

External genitalia only, with no vaginal canal.

@Elodie_lyra @SleepyCatten

@janetlogan the surgeon I talked to recently in Spain (and I know someone else who just had the same) said it’s better to go for minimal depth because it’s easier to construct a nice looking outer (but still the benefit of no dilation reqd)

@AlwaysAutumn @SleepyCatten

@Elodie_lyra

Good to know. Not that I'll ever be able to do any version. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

At my age, in the US, with no insurance, and the current political situation? Yeah, I can't afford GCS, even if I could find a surgeon willing to ignore my chronic health conditions. I have accepted that. 😞

I start Medicare in July, but I doubt they cover GCS. Yeah, they did during the Obama administration. But then TFG happened. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
