@ardwulf Nearly half a year ago I asked you about your Traveller Campaign regarding the software you used. You had shown us some Pictures.

You told me it is called Obsidian.

Since then I have played around with it. Trying to create folders, Pages, linking them, inserting PDF, Images, notes.

Just want to let you know how helpful this tip was. I can manage a whole RPG - Campaign with this Tool, including Maps, notes, Character Sheets.aso.

So, thanks again man. It was a really revealing suggestion and just playing around with it is just fun. And it has a great Help File / explanation online. Getting Information together was never so much fun.

👍👍👍

@antisanti Let us know what you think about it. Eager to know how it plays and how well it can be used solo. Have it on my radar but still holding back. Have so many Tacticals... but the specific War interests me since it (hopefully) doesn't just place one Army against the other. That's what I liked with "We are coming, Ninive".
@koboldcurrychef Get well soon and take good care. Good to see spending the time with our awesome hobby and not in front of a TV (nothing 'gainst TV here, especially when it is 🏈 season).
This is a great game and a nice system. Don't know if you have other Games in this Line. I liked Shiloh and Vicksburg and the Solo Game Manila / Stalingrad are very good (yes, this is WW2 and not ACW😉 ).

@theplayersaidgrant Great looking Game. Map folding is a bit odd. Counters punched and sorted into cube4me trays. Now I need to 'update' my Computer aka get a new one for playing online via Vassal.

Vuca makes beautiful games. Looking forward to get it on my table.

But first: Perimeter-Con 2025 next Werk 😁👍

@ardwulf This looks awesome. Truly awesome. Wow. Am I right in assuming that all the blue text is hyperlinked to other entries in this database?

I know you have written in the past about this but - for an old man - what software are you using?

Have thought about something like this regarding to a Fantasy Campaign but beside 'The Keep' (nbos software) I haven't found something that I like and doesn't needs me online all the time (yes, I'm very OSR).

@theplayersaidgrant I would be interested how much nostalgia (man, I played that game over the whole Summer when I was 14) or actual playability today! this game has. Especially when compared to Rebel Fury or the excellent Games from Revolution Games.

Thanks a lot.

@RyTo Thanks so much for the detailed response. Will try Cataphract, learn the rules and then see how it goes. Great. 👍

My son asked me recently to introduce him to the SPQR - line of Games.

I own SPQR 5th Ed., Julius Caesar, Hoplite, GB of Alexander, Cataphract.

Any suggestions with which game to start? I warned him that the Games are not balanced (those who have played them know what I mean).

Don't know why he is asking those questions when he plans to move out. 🤔

Thanks in advance.

@pushingcardboard Looks wild. Best wishes from the other side of the pond, too. Don't know what more to say.

@pushingcardboard So sorry to hear. Wish you the best with your Games and an insurance guy who is a gamer too (to understand that this is not a bunch of 'toy - boxes').

Fingers crossed 🤞
