El otro día discutía con un norteamericano el tema de Trump. Por lo visto quería votarle porque todos los políticos yankies son basura y este al menos no era político y los demócratas habían sido todos basura también y etc.

Reflexioné un segundo, le di un sorbo a mi tinto y le dije: mira, si es que tienes razón, en realidad a mí lo que me parece una mierda es Norteamérica.

Llegados a este punto no quedaba mucho debate que tener.

Referring to someone by their last name is generally a sign of respect. Referring to someone by their first name is generally a sign of intimacy. Consider how people have referred, in short form, to other nominees and Presidents:

Bush, Clinton, Gore, Bush, Kerry, Obama, Romney, McCain, Biden, Trump

And then

Hillary and Kamala
