The GUTS+ System

An RPG system with easy-to-remember rules, a focus on custom stats rather than set skills, and a unique D6 conflict resolution system in order to allow more focus on characters than combat.

I'm honestly stunned by how many people have downloaded the GUTS+ PDF from amongst the thousands of other games in the bundles it's been included in!

Seeing numbers like these and seeing up to 3 downloads per day over the past month is almost motivating enough to convince me to stop giving up on the rewrite/update! ......almost.

I have embarked on the (possibly foolhardy) journey of rewriting (most if not all) the GUTS+ System rule book to add more detail and examples. I hope I'm able to actually follow through on this, because I've been wanting to change the stat names for a while now—currently it's Gumption, Utility, Thought, and Slyness, but I found better words that express the last two: Tact and Senses!

Also I'm gonna use "Guide" instead of "Game Master" because I like it better.

Ooo, I'm reading through the GUTS+ rulebook again, and boy oh boy do I need to take more time to edit this. I'm not a /bad/ writer, but I'm also not a /good/ writer... I wonder if my partner would be willing to help me with my mess; I just hesitate to put her through that 😔

In related news, my brain is hyperfixating on making a JRPG-style video game with shift-turn combat that includes social solutions based on my GUTS+ System? It's making it really hard to work right now >_>

Magic item idea:

Bottle of Carbonation: Any liquid placed inside this 12 fl. oz. glass bottle becomes immediately carbonated when sealed. The longer a liquid remains sealed in the bottle, the stronger the carbonization becomes. If not re-opened soon enough, the pressure will eventually remove the obstruction sealing the bottle one way or another, most frequently by violent ejection.
