I love watching ospreys dive for fish. Such an amazing feat of precision and strength!

I also love watching them do a midair dog shake to dry their feathers, and here is a series of 8 shots of one osprey doing just that, backlit by the sun. I almost didn't take the shots because the bird was between me and the sun but I am glad I did because the light hit the water droplets just right. In the digital age of photography, the worst photo is the one never taken.

Did I mention I love ospreys?
