Been experimenting with a locally-built Pantheon spin of #Fedora #Silverblue, based on the info from here: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/kinoite-a-kde-and-now-xfce-version-of-fedora-silverblue/147/25
Kinoite, a KDE (and now XFCE) version of Fedora Silverblue

If you are only building one variant, you don’t really need my scripts. Here are the steps to build your own variant: # Clone the official config git clone https://pagure.io/workstation-ostree-config silverblue && cd silverblue # Use the correct branch git checkout f30 # Optionnal: pull my changes from https://pagure.io/fork/siosm/workstation-ostree-config # git pull ... # Copy the config to create your own (pick your favorite desktop, kinoite is KDE here) cp fedora-kinoite.yaml fedora-variant....

- GNOME Software got a nice visual overhaul in 41; for app info pages especially, I prefer its presentation over AppCenter's now
- AppCenter does feel faster overall
- elementary app ecosystem is great, but also available on any distro now because Flatpak

So, I didn't last long very long on Plasma. Other than the major stuff mentioned in the previous post, there were a lot of little annoyances that added up enough that I decided I'd just switch back now
Gonna hold off any thoughts related to stability for now as this is still in beta, but, I have gone ahead and made the switch
I do still plan for elementary OS to remain the target platform for Roll-It, but...kinda tempted to experiment with libadwaita now
I was already using the Steam Flatpak before, but, just to confirm that gaming, clearly of the utmost highest priority, works just fine under Silverblue:

Decided to go ahead and do it; I've migrated over to Fedora Silverblue, currently running the 35 pre-release. Will post updates in the future if I run into any quirks; if I forget to, it's probably because things are running perfectly fine. We'll see.

Very tempted to give Fedora Silverblue a test drive as my daily driver sometime, maybe when Fedora 35 comes out; I already primarily use Flatpaks for apps anyway, and the ability to easily rollback and/or rebase the OS image is interesting.

super-experimental, not-properly-functioning GTK4 port of Roll-It

Got my Pinebook Pro today (delivered on a very rainy morning, of course---the outer packaging kept all the water out, though).

Forgot to get a microSD for it to test other distros, so that's next on the list, but in the meantime, I guess I'll be getting familiar with Manjaro (and KDE again)

Now that Flatpak stuff is (mostly) in place, I've been doing a pass over the elementary HIG to polish up Roll-It ahead of the next release. Lots of small changes, like widget spacing and buttons being insensitive when they can't do anything
