Sometimes you have the misfortune to meet an egotistical fool who's convinced they're the smartest person in the room. This article by @mmasnick leaves no doubt in my mind that wherever Elon Musk goes, not only is he not the smartest person in the room, it's likely he's the stupidest person in the room.

"Even dumber is that the “lesson” that Walter #Isaacson seems to take from this little episode is not that #Musk’s impulsivity is a dangerous, out of control wrecking ball that is going to destroy some serious stuff, but that (ex)#Twitter’s employees had to learn how to better “manage” the man-baby in charge:"

Every bit of this Smarch BS can get right in the sea.

Nothing I've said all Black history month has changed anyone's mental model. The racist people hate-following me, still hate Black people. The anti-racist people, still think racism is bad.

All that's changed, is that a few more folks now have a more complete set of data that they can interpret, using the exact same mental model that they had in January. They're now using the same assumptions as a lot of Black folk in the US, and have the same context.

And that's enough for a lot of progress.

Happy #BlackHistoryMonth !

Still not talking about Black History. Still talking about white US History.

The US *loves* soldiers and veterans! Virtuous! Service! 🇺🇲🦅

The US *hates* homeless people. Lazy! Dirty! Want a handout!

But... ~1 in every 20 US homeless folk is a Black or hispanic veteran. 🤷🏿‍♂️

In the USA, the phrase "support our troops!" is a euphemism that does mean military jingoism, but doesn't mean supporting all of our troops.

Q: Why do Black folk disrespect the military by kneeling during the anthem?

A: But... most active duty military fully support the kneeling protests? 🙂🙃

You'll understand why that support exists, once you understand the military's true demographics. About 47% of the military is non-white.

There's a stark contrast between most "honor our veterans" PR montages and a non-staged photo of a large group of service personnel. You can't "honor vets" or "support troops" by ignoring half of them.
