Shelby Jacobs played a key role in the development of a camera system that filmed stage separation events during launches of the Saturn V rocket. These images became iconic and have appeared in countless places including the original series Star Trek episode "Assignment: Earth" which used footage of the jettisoning of the first stage during the Apollo 4 test launch.
