I haven't done an astronomy sketch in a long time, and I haven't done any sort of drawing in an even longer time, but I was bored so I drew my mp3 player.

I am thrilled with the new gear I put together recently. This was due since my old refractor, an ED80 from Explore Scientific, needs (hang on) colimation. Fortunately I had a Rokinon 135 mm lens, in which I attached a filter drawer and a Uranus-C OSC from Player One. Well, must say that I'm in love with this little setup! It has been a game changer for me. Now I am able to shoot pictures like this, from the Heart and Soul (and also a Fish Head) nebulae! Cheers everyone! #Astrodon #astronomy

Well it's been 3 years since we moved out to the countryside and into dark skies. The observatory is still in bits lying in the paddock and the scopes in storage gathering dust. Hopefully next year I can start on the new observatory and get back into astrophotography.
Anyway, here are some photos of our southern view. We only have one immediate neighbor, of course they are in the way of the best imaging direction 🤣

Posted my first astronomy sketch video to YouTube in a long time! This sketch is of M76 The Little Dumbbell Nebula in Perseus. Hard to pull out detail in light polluted skies, but the core of this object stood out in the eyepiece. Felt good to get out under the stars again. I make no promises, but I hope I can get out more this winter and get back to observing multiple times a month.

Not getting enough sleep was totally worth it! I wish I had a better foreground but I can't complain.
