ICYMI: Last week a college student in Boston was arrested for stalking a Chinese activist and threatening to chop her hands off if she posted more anti-CCP flyers. The incident offers a glimpse into a larger problem: On campus and off, it's getting more difficult to speak critically about China. https://www.thefire.org/news/arrest-student-boston-grim-reminder-danger-facing-chinese-dissidents-campus
Arrest of student in Boston a grim reminder of the danger facing Chinese dissidents on campus

Infosec.exchange crossed 40000 accounts a few minutes ago. 7 weeks ago, we had ~180 active accounts.

For people saying “but it’s harder for things to go viral here”.

A few days ago if I saw something boosted (reshared) 50 times, that was a lot. Now I’m regularly seeing things--news, jokes, cartoons---boosted over 100 times. And some in the thousands.

To me that’s a measure of the health of the social graph. People are connecting. Their networks are overlapping. They aren’t in a bubble of their current instance. This is great news for the long term success.
