2030 is now 80 months away.

Each remaining month is 1.25% of the time we have left to reduce global emissions to 45% below to 2010 levels -which the IPCC say is necessary to stay below 1.5C

Currently, we're ~20% above 2010 levels & still headed in the wrong direction ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Yesterday was the first day COโ‚‚ at Mauna Loa was 425 ppm. This is:
-likely the first time in the past 800,000 years.
-possibly not seen in over 3 million years (mid-pliocene warm period).
-A COโ‚‚ forcing equal to 2.5-4ยฐC of warming and 5-25 meters higher global sea level.

Got chatting to some people at the bus stop. Showed them this graph. They didnโ€™t believe it was true. It is. From the University of Reading. They said why isnโ€™t this on the news? Quite. People are right to panic when they see it. @BBCNews @SkyNews @itvnews @CNN

We've all seen the stories about how Paris is quickly getting rid of cars.

The impact on local air pollution is simply massive.

๐Ÿž๏ธ The Cityโ€™s 4,000+ acres of Open Space can be a climate asset.

๐ŸŒณ These ecosystems are enjoyed every day by our community, but they can also sequester carbon and increase our resilience to the increasingly extreme floods, fires, and droughts that are caused by climate change.

Have you ever had these Japanese rice crackers? Good chance they were made by Umeya, an iconic LA brand with a factory on the edge of Little Tokyo & Skid Row.

Now Umeya is about to become known for another product, one LA badly needs: Affordable housing https://laist.com/news/housing-homelessness/iconic-la-japanese-rice-cracker-factory-to-be-replaced-by-affordable-housing-umeya-little-tokyo

Iconic LA Japanese Rice Cracker Factory To Be Replaced By Affordable Housing

The Umeya facility will be demolished in the coming weeks to make way for 175 affordable units, half for unhoused people.

Great @nytimes article from @bradplumer and Nadja Popovich on the role of electrification in achieving net zero by 2050 and whether our grid can handle it.

my father is a municipal judge. In 2013 NM made gay marriage legal. In protest, every judge in his county stopped performing ALL marriages. Except my dad, who bought a rainbow bow tie and had me rewrite his vows to be gender-neutral. Here he 9 months later at his 80th ceremony. https://twitter.com/feyiszn/status/1645836726680551428
