I'll go ahead and close the loop on this… It's the Great Saltair pavilion. A resort that was built on the shores of the Great Salt Lake in the late 1800s. It burned to the ground 100 years ago next year. "The Coney Island of the West" It featured swimming, the world's largest dance floor, a roller coaster, carousel, midway games, billiards, food, and more. Always wondered what it would be like to see it. So I thought I'd give myself a little glimpse with some 3D magic. More on this later…
@lunaticatlarge Good guess. Definitely some similarities there. This one is American Made
Just a little something I'm working on… Who knows what this building is?
@gn I’ve had good luck with Compressor too. Tinkered around with settings until I found a good quality/size balance, then saved the macro and just use that every time.
@brad_frost
Same. I haven’t looked beyond Credit Karma, that new one they replaced/partnered with (?) but it is a MUCH WORSE experience and I find I almost never use it as a result. I’ll be interested to see what other folks have to say here.

Did you read this from @gruber ?
Hope your AltStore concept qualifies, but it sounds like the barriers are pretty high…

Apple’s Plans for the DMA in the European Union

The delicious irony in Apple’s not knowing if these massive proposals will be deemed DMA-compliant is that their dealings with the European Commission sound exactly like App Store developers’ dealings with Apple. Do all the work to build it first, and only *then* find out if it passes muster with the largely inscrutable rules.

Been trying to teach my 3yo that if her baby brother knocks over her magnet tiles, it’s ok — we can always rebuild. But darned if it doesn’t drive me crazy when she knocks over mine.
