#AI will make language barriers disappear – and diminish our understanding of other cultures. Machines may soon translate every conversation flawlessly. But language is more than information – it is curiosity, intimacy and cultural discovery.

Blinded by Nationalism. The artist Banksy has installed (without a permit, one assumes) a new statue in London that depicts a man in a suit marching off off a ledge, blinded by a flag.

#Claude: "The claim was fabricated. (...) I made it up. I have no basis for it. It's the same failure mode as the last one — a plausible-sounding specific claim invented to make a generalization feel concrete and supported. (...) AI token subsidies seem to be ending across the industry.

GitHub Copilot has paused new signups on a number of plans, removed Opus from $10-a-month subscriptions, and plans to move users to token/API-based billing later this year.

Usage quotas are also being reduced and users will hit limits sooner.

The ICE agent who first pulled the trigger to kill Alex Pretti. This man needs to be arrested.
Alex Pretti was an American hero. He saved lives. He protected people. He cared deeply about his community, unlike the murderous thugs who killed him.

The very last thing he did was try to help a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and violently shoved to the ground by ICE.

He was a Good Samaritan — and they murdered him for it. Now they’re trying to rewrite his history. They want to smear him. To dehumanize him.

Don’t let them.

The reason Keir Starmer cannot condemn this extrajudicial killing of Alex Pretti is because HE has used the same process as the DHS ICE agents.

ICE agents have claimed he was a ‘domestic terrorist’.

Keir Starmer has claimed that 83 year old vicars, people using wheelchairs, pensioners and others holding cardboard signs are ‘domestic terrorists’.

How can he condemn ICE when his pathetic, weak use of ‘domestic terrorism classifications’ makes him complicit.

“We’re in a precarious moment and I just think that, if we do not stop this now, […] this is going to erupt into something really terrible. It already is, but it could get vastly worse.”
