Craigslist scammers are so obvious. I have a motorcycle listed and keep getting the same email from different names:

"I came across your ad on CL, I really like the bike and I’m interested in it. Can you tell me does the bike have any mechanical problems? Also, if you could send me more pictures and a history report, I would really appreciate it! Could I maybe come to see the bike in person? Are you firm on the price?"

I know it's a scam because all those questions are answered in the ad.

@zildjian hmm. What's the point of this scam then? I really don't get it.

@FTablative Not entirely sure, but I'll bet it's simply a snare to get me talking, then they'll start in with one of the classics: "I'm buying for a buddy in the military" or "I'll send a check for the bike plus some extra for (insert whatever reason here), etc.

The first one felt hinky so I ignored it, and then I got 3 or 4 more worded exactly the same but from different names.
