I just started reading Ijeoma Oluo's book (So You Want to Talk About Race). And had to stop to blink a few times when I got to:

"a lot of the racists holding white power signs aren't even registered to vote"

... this book was published in January of this year and it has not aged well?

I mean, I take her broader point, and I guess technically even the overt racists in political power are still at least slightly coded about it. But still. Blink.
