Episodes I - III are about how liberalism falls to fascism. The Clone Wars is about exploring if the liberal republic was worth saving.

episodes IV - VI is about success about successful armed rebellion against a fascist regime

but episodes VII - VIII we see that liberalism was not able to provide strong enough promise to inspire people. society quickly returns to fascism again and the liberal republic has lost support from the masses. but people still want change. but what?

Rogue One and Rebels are about how long, difficult, and tiring revolution is. and I'm expecting IX is going to explore rebuilding the dream of revolution after it has failed. how will the rebellion form a new vision for the world strong enough to inspire people past the mere concept of resistance?

we'll have to see... though i'm not expecting... too radical a message from Disney hehe

You can't inspire revolution that simply means returning to a society which employed slave labor. which bred mass clone soldiers from children. which took children from their parents and raised them as soldiers. which promoted the pretty terrible philosophy of the jedi. which created sentient droids but continued to treat them as disposable property.

in The Clone Wars we see that the republic wasn't even that beneficial to its territories

@shel points 2 bright red rebel logo
mothafuckin space socialism
@hi_cial yeah but the rebel logo looks just like the old Republic logo which was also red so idk for sure if that's the thing hehehe but hey it'd be Really Cool if it was
@shel canonically there was no Old Republic logo til i would say the mid 80s? 90s perhaps? it originated in the comics au im pretty sure. so..!!!!! the original Ideal the rebels fought for still remains Red Rebels

@shel sorry im gay for star wars until the prequels happened and then dropped out til Recently

the prequels have only one glorious gift they gave us and thats elan sleazebaggano the deathsticks dealer

@hi_cial ahemmmm the prequels gave us Padme who is VERY good
@shel what the fuck did she see in some idiot w a rattail who yelled YIPPEE WAHOOO like he fell outta some welches grapejuice commercial
@shel honestly tho disney's rebranding of the rebel logo as gold/orange is Not that subtle when its original 70s canon was red as FUCK. i mean luke was red 5 at the battle of yavin but the logo itself remained iconically red (or black/white) til disney's recent acquisition

@shel another reason for disney to rebrand it as orange is bc it calls back to the 70s, the original trilogy, etc but

i mean
rebranding it as orange/gold Did make it Much More Merchandisable. legit i would have & did buy anything w the logo i could find in the 90s but almost None existed bc. red.

now im rollin in rebel logo its great

@hi_cial i think it is still red in the new stuff? but only sometimes? the old republic's logo i guess is blue sometimes? but in the clone wars we see both the old republic logo and the new one sometime sin various colors??? idek
@shel oh yeah no they didnt Retire the red. usually you see it on black backgrounds tho for that edgelord teen color combo classic
@shel i say, wearing a black and red rebel logo hoodie right now
@hi_cial my main point is that the name of the rebellion is formally The Alliance To Restore the Republic which issss regressive liberalism. They need to stop looking back and start looking forward. People have lost faith in Restoring the Republic; they want to restablish a new, better system

@shel YOURE RIGHT im just wondering if the Real Rebellion didnt wanna be socialists All The Long.

admititly i will project this headcanon any way i can

@hi_cial i also kinda think some it is applicable to like..... communist tactics post-ussr? like you can't make all your rhetoric be about restoring the USSR or trying to justify and make them seem good cuz it was a society that employed gulags and was highly corrupt and had a dictator. you need to create and NEW vision for a communism or socialism without that stuff
